Ephemeral arts are created for many reasons, most significantly to celebrate events in people's lives. At other times communities create temporary arts to celebrate a religious festival or a symbol. Ephemeral arts are also connected to the rites of passage - childbirth, growing up, reaching the age of maturity, getting married, growing old and even dying.
