The Festival was held in the open air at a famous forest or wood  known as Burham Beeches just outside Slough. The work that was created at this festival was unique.

Two hundred children of secondary school age took part by prior arrangement with their teachers. It was a working day - devising project ideas with festival artists, working with them to create the arts and then recording their creations for GCSE examination course work. Children took photographs using digital cameras (to allow easy transfers to computers and to insert their pictures into their project folders). Many children were inspired to research into the background of the project ideas that they were working with.
